The Story
NEW in 2026, Royal Global has introduced a new bass clarinet neck! This new neck has a new, smaller bore and exterior, reinforced socket receiver, and a steeper angle for those who prefer a more "clarinet-like" angle when playing the bass clarinet.
NOTE: This neck is available in both the standard design (stock on the Max and Polaris bass clarinets), and the Firebird design (not pictured...yet). While the Firebird neck is designed to be a slightly more robust, projecting sound due in part to the different alloy and ribbed design, the standard design provides a warmer, more compact sound. Both necks will fit all models of Royal Global clarinets. The new Firebird neck DOES NOT come with a resonator, an update to the 2026 Firebird, as the new design eliminates the need.
NOTE: In most cases, the neck will need to be taken to a reputable technician to be properly regulated for your bass clarinet. Since Royal does not have an adjustment screw neck design (yet...!), the necks are not interchangeable without adjusting the register mechanism. While this can be done by a careful and knowledgeable player, we do not recommend it. Please, take it to a technician.
